[attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]The Great Game [attr="class","p_content"]In the year 5236 on Cadyumn the CEO of Coliseum Games, C.L. Dunois, met with select individuals from each homeworld's ruling corporation. To the public this meeting is non-existent, but during the meeting through a combination of asking, persuasion, and even blackmail got the signatures and therefore support and funding of each of the individuals in attendance. next year, 5237, the world was unveiled to their project, a new game for the hardiest contenders and for the viewer with the most gruesome tastes, Survival of the Fittest, a live-streamed show where once human monsters survive on alien planets constantly under the view of everyone. [attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]The First Season [attr="class","p_content"]Despite the inhuman nature of the game it was legalized and officiated before it even became public due to the crafty work of C.L. who had quickly gone on a campaign to ensure her plan worked. Disguised originally as an effort of scientific curiosity and a way to take care of the undesirables of the Dimiran Planet it was started with 6 prisoners off of death row who were mutated and sent to a recently found archipelago planet for both them and the people watching to see these new lands and how these monsters would survive. Quickly dragging in viewers the violent or dramatic scenes of nature combined with the intrigue of their nature brought support in loads, while also brewing disdain within pockets and certain Dimiran Communities. This influx of money and interest allowing them to expand and slowly bring more and more people into the game, no matter who they were, all for sick entertainment of those who profited from it, or just for the carnal pleasure as each year some survived but even more died.

[attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]The Selection Process [attr="class","p_content"]While it started out with just prisoners soon enough the laws of each planet and even the council began to change to enlarge the pool of potential survivalists. In some people's case, there were those who truly saw it as a challenge and/or a game so they sought to enter of their own volition services popping up to help them enter or even "train" them in some businesses. Though on the darker end of the spectrum criminal groups and laws have made it easier for slaves, debtors, and even victims to be inducted into the game, their background meaning nothing to the scientists, though it's unsure to the public where the actual processing happens but many suspect a hidden facility on Cadyumn. [attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]Gene Therapy [attr="class","p_content"]Once they've been put asleep on their respective planet of the indictment the new contestants in the game, Survivalists as their publicly known as they soon wake up in a dimly lit laboratory. Here they undergo the process known as Gene Therapy. The scientists for the game look through their large libraries of DNA for a Bio-Imprint, the genetics, and DNA of a singular animal family or order. After one is chosen through either poetic justice or complete randomness it is periodically introduced to their cells. Over the next 4-6 weeks, depending on the imprint, they will undergo constant treatment to accept the new dna, and to further mutate them into a creature that is no longer human. The screams of pain that the survivalists let out as their bodies break down and change has caused them to keep them in sound-proof pens until they finish, gaining an adaptation before they are put to sleep and encased in gel to be sent off to their new world. [attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]The Sponsors [attr="class","p_content"]While gambling was soon to come from the game's birth no one had expected when someone was paid to enter the game for them. It wasn't before long before the richest people chose to sponsor, offering money to people who would enter the game and their success would become linked to their sponsors. While this often means benefits for the sponsor it usually also end with the Survivalists family being taken care of, or a wish getting granted by them. Though there has also been controversial evidence of sponsors sending supplies through orbit, not breaking the rule of no landing man-made crafts/or pods on a Colony World. Though it's rare and often only happens when the beast and the sponsor are needy.
