you cannot hold me captive
welcome to Survival of the Fittest
In the year 3096 humanity left earth forever, much of its history lost due to wars and disaster.
The only leftovers were seized by the last human government—
The Dimiran Empire, formed from the weatlhiest and most advanced conglomerates on the planet.
They quickly colonized seven new homeplanets, each one headed by a different company and humans began to prosper once again.
Now, in the year 5247 the empire thrives on nine planets, but within the last ten years a new form of "entertainment" has shown up within the empire.
Under the guise of scientific study, the government has gathered criminals, slaves, debtors, or contracted individuals to help study the ecosystems of foreign planets.
Those in the experiment are genetically altered to become humanoid monsters with traits similar to animals from earth.
They are then sent to varying planets where they must adapt to survive.
Their struggles are watched through constant livestreams for entertainment.
Unfortunately, you are one these experiments.
Sorry for this.
The premise for this roleplay is that you are a human from one of the nine homeplanets who, due to varying circumstances, are inducted into the experiment, becoming mutated and left to survive in an alien ecosystem. You go through growth spurts to gain adaptations, or improve/modify existing ones. You get to choose the planet you wish to land on, but the landing pods aren't stable so where you land on the planet will be random.

Wake up. [break][break] If the whisper was her own thought, it did not do much to garner the girl's attention. She couldn't picture herself any longer in the home she was raised in. All she could imagine was the lab, the pain, the men in long white coats with gloves and masks as though she were something so feral they were afraid to touch her lest she inflict upon them some kind of deadly infection. She half wished she could. Still, the pain that lingered in her mind, in her body, made her ignore the murmur in her head and keep her eyes closed, let her mind lull. That was, until it became insistent. [break][break] With a sudden gasp dragging air sharply into her longs, dark masked eyes snapped open wide. It took her a moment to consciously register her own body, beyond the brightness above her that made her instantly squeeze her eyes shut again. Sunlight - or at least something brighter than the darkness of a drug-induced sleep that weighed like a coma. Next she registered something cool lapping at her legs, something...Instinct shot into play, and without thought she sprung into action, jerking and scrambling away from the cool lapping with a strange hiss, before her eyes snapped to the supposed 'threat' to see it was just water, not some sick and painful lab test. With a slight shudder, Samaria dragged more air into her lungs, attempting to calm herself as she gazed more openly at her surroundings. [break][break] There was a dull ache to her body, a reminder that she should try and find somewhere more comfortable to rest, as well as some form of sustenance, and figuring out if that water was drinkable wouldn't be a poor plan either. Still, she didn't pay too much mind to that just yet, instead she drew herself shakily up onto four legs, nose twitching as she peered warily around, long tail naturally drawing close to her as she attempted to sniff the air. Just where was she now? Anywhere that wasn't the lab would be wonderful, in truth, and already she could feel her curiosity beginning to battle with her cautiousness. [break][break] Was she finally free? Was this....it? [break][break][break]

In the open air of a new world, the brilliant light of its sun had broken through the evening sky along with the vast expanse of the forest that decorate the uneven hills hat created a veil of green and orange light as it brought notice to what was directly in front of Samaria, at least on the side she was facing after she had awoken.[break][break]
However, it was simply more than just enough to tint the light as in front of her was an expansive forest of bamboo that not only existed in front of her as it seemed to curve and go out further, there was a canopy and they grew on uneven ground as there seemed to be quite a few hills and large rocks that create groves in the bamboo further out into the forest. The forest continued even beyond her as behind her was appeared to be a great lake, so large that the end was not visible from one side to the other, but the bamboo forest stretched out to border it for as far as could be seen.[break][break]
The great lake was large and resplendent with what looked like floating flowers that appeared almost like jewels floated along to the top almost to the quantity of overpopulation it had seemed. Though this was the obvious and largest source of water it would not be the only as she would feel a trick at her feet, it was the beginning of a creek that seemed to be branching off a larger river that came from the lake. It was clear and it felt cool to the touch as it trickled past going into the opposite direction into the hilled forest.[break][break]
There was plenty of options for water in this place it seemed with the sheer size of the lake that was in front of her and the branching of these different watercourses such as the river and its creek. While it would probably be a pain on the foot from the uneven ground and amount of hills in the forest its bamboo would probably be hiding plenty of available food in different places, and even shelter could be plausible. Though it seemed like there would be plenty of possibilities to satisfy any of her needs in any order that she wanted there was also the looming timer of the sun. Though it was only sunset it meant that night time would come soon and it would be up to her if she'd search for sanctuary or take the risk of dwelling deep into the dark as it slowly crept up on the sky.[break][break]
While the night was approaching there was ample daylight left as the sun hadn't even reached the horizon yet as it ducked towards the water. It was that things would get uneven, literally as the survivalist would feel a rock underneath its foot push up from underneath the ground and then suddenly a pointed tail uncurling from the rock. While it was not visible this was most definitely a rock, it was a creature of some sort and it seems she was standing where it had been sleeping.

As she tried to gather her bearings, Samaria's gaze swept the landscape around her. She certainly preferred the dark of night to the light of day - the lab lights had always been so blinding to her sensitive eyes and this sun was no different - however, it made it easier to see further all the same, even if she had to squint just a little. At least the sun seemed to be sinking.
Out before her, as far as she could see and likely beyond, was a large forest of what appeared to be bamboo, though she didn't know too much about that at all, and she didn't care for the type of foliage unless it was deadly. The land seemed pretty rough and rocky, like something solid had begun the long process of crumbling to dust, but at least it looked walkable if she was careful about sharp rocks.
Following the forest line, she saw there was a lake behind her, which stretched out as far as she could see as well, bathed in the softening glow of daylight as the sun went about its slow descent. The bamboo forest followed its shore so far, and she wondered briefly just how big this place was, before shaking off its irrelevancy. Who even cared? It was her home now. Flowers of abundance littered the pristine surface, and from it flowed a river, which was joint by the creek trickling past her as they both flowed off into the forest as one. Her nose and ears twitched in turn, curious and a little overstimulated as compared to labs and her drugged sleep in a falling pod.
She'd been about to sniff the water, when something moved beneath her foot. At first she stumbled, but with three legs still on the ground she caught herself before she fell and splashed into the shallow creek, letting out a growling hiss like sound of something akin to shock and annoyance, ears falling halfway back and tail kinking slightly. Still, her nose twitched as she eyed the creature - or at least what she could see of it, which was a tail. Not sure what else to do, she readied herself to run as she reached out with a hand, aiming to grab the tail and give it a tug. Should the creature move further out, she would immediately release and spring back with another hiss. She wasn't quite crabbing at the strange creature yet, but it wouldn't be a surprise if it tried to attack her or something.

Curiosity was certainly valuable in the animal world as it helped creatures find new food, places, and resources but sometimes it was also just pure moments of a question just to see what would happen. Which one this would be had yet to be decided even as its immediate response became apparent. "Gagghh." It had let out a throaty noise in response to the sudden rear pulling.[break][break]
The same head that had made the noise would soon turn and look back as its long neck had stretched out a bit, revealing that it was able to slink it back into the faux boulder shell it had. It was a turtle of some kind it appeared from the shape of its face and the fact that it had a stubbier tail that it had also hidden made it at least appear similar to one. The odd familiarity to creatures from the earth that they had never seen was was something that made the game appealing to the public, besides the players themselves also coming to mimic creatures from the old home.[break][break]
It didn't retaliate with the same noise it had before but instead chose to tilt and look up at her, it didn't seem aggressive and instead, it just looked around at the beauty around it like it was all that mattered at the moment then it turned back to the creature who had stepped on it. It let out another cry, but this time it was a bit softer and it sounded less of annoyance and more of a curiosity of his own kind.[break][break]
Whether or not it was to be an ally or an enemy was yet to be seen and instead was dependent on their proceeded interaction with one another in the next few moments. The stony turtle seemed like it would be friendly enough but its demeanor was hard to tell much from the fact that it had least wished to be removed of the pressure on its back. It tugged lightly with its movements but not enough to break away or cause disbalance within the creature. It seemed as if it was gently asking for her to move so that way he could do so himself.[break][break]
Would the sugar glider use this moment to learn something, to make a claim at this area, or simply wait for the turtle to do something else of its own? With the variety of options, the most important question to them all was, which one will help me survive?

Rather than jerking away from her touch, the rocky creature made a strange sound, before a head exited the shell and twisted around to face her. Curiosity and wariness stalled her muscles from darting out of reach, and Samaria instead blinked at it watchfully. The strange creature didn't lash out or make any sudden movements to suggest danger. In fact, it seemed more interested in its surroundings then seeing her as a potential threat. She probably didn't seem very threatening in all honesty to the....whatever it was. She honestly had no idea, no images in her mind to compare it too. So she just watched it.
It wasn't long before the creature made another noise. Similar to before, but softer. Its attention had clearly returned to her, and it was only in the movement of it gently trying to shake her off that she realized her hands were still planted upon its rocky shell. That was part of its body? Oh. She didn't bother wondering if she hurt it - even if she thought of such a thing, it was rather unlikely, and it didn't seem at all distressed. In fact it simply seemed to want her out of the way.
Still, wariness had her movements carefully calculated. Ready to dash out of reach at any moment, Samaria drew slowly away from the creature, before backing a few steps. She moved backward toward the river, but also to the side along its bank, ensuring she was out of the path in which the creature seemed like it may want to go. Or at least, out of the path she was originally blocking.
From her new position, she would crouch readily. However, she wouldn't run, nor many any other sudden movements. Instead, she would silently watch the creature, her gaze scanning it for any movement. Perhaps this could prove to be of assistance. She could watch to see what it drank or ate, or perhaps it could serve as some kind of protection. Maybe if the creature was one she could befriend, it could aid her in her survival. Not that she was really consciously aware of this as a game, but this seemed her safest bet, monitoring what the creature did and seeing what she could learn of this strange place from it.
