In the year 3096 humanity left earth forever, much of its history lost due to wars and disaster.
The only leftovers were seized by the last human government—
The Dimiran Empire, formed from the weatlhiest and most advanced conglomerates on the planet.
They quickly colonized seven new homeplanets, each one headed by a different company and humans began to prosper once again.
Now, in the year 5247 the empire thrives on nine planets, but within the last ten years a new form of "entertainment" has shown up within the empire.
Under the guise of scientific study, the government has gathered criminals, slaves, debtors, or contracted individuals to help study the ecosystems of foreign planets.
Those in the experiment are genetically altered to become humanoid monsters with traits similar to animals from earth.
They are then sent to varying planets where they must adapt to survive.
Their struggles are watched through constant livestreams for entertainment.

The premise for this roleplay is that you are a human from one of the nine homeplanets who, due to varying circumstances, are inducted into the experiment, becoming mutated and left to survive in an alien ecosystem. You go through growth spurts to gain adaptations, or improve/modify existing ones. You get to choose the planet you wish to land on, but the landing pods aren't stable so where you land on the planet will be random.

This was it. It was the end of the line, the final stop. There was no turning back - as if there was ever a chance at turning back from this - and staring at the pod Ibiza couldn’t help but think about what the future would hold. Sustenance living? Mere survival? Having watched the Games from the Citadel she knew that survivalists fell into one of two categories. First were those who tried to make ends meet. Their goal was survival. The minimum. The others were the takers, the dominators, the maximizers. Their goal was not to survive, it was to thrive. For them it would never be enough to just stay alive. [break] Which one would she be? [break] ‘Don’t be stupid, slave. I have one task and one task only: become stronger.’ Whether Eve was worried about the future or the inevitable struggle their lives would become or not, she hadn’t shown it. The last time she had seen her slave she had told them their mission. An abrupt ‘don’t die before I find you,’ was the only sign that Ibiza was still invested in ensuring her possession’s survival. In that moment she was confident. [break] But in this moment, as her consciousness slipped and her mind grew hazy with sleep, her eyes flickered, seeking out one last glimpse of all that had begun to be familiar. She drank it in - the last look at the world of man before it all went dark.[break] When she awoke it was to the feeling of unequivocal cold. Feeling the stark difference between the temperature controlled environments of the labs and the wilds of Skaldi, Eve shuddered. This was it. Beginning a physical check of her faculties Eve unfurled her wings and flexed her toes. Everything seemed to be in working order... [break] The same could not be said of the ice-grass that had been mowed down by her reentry. Picking up a piece between two clawed fingers, Eve twirled and twisted the plant, inspecting it as she grew more conscious and aware of her surroundings. Most wildlife would have been scared off by seeing a blob fall from the sky, but one could never be too careful. [break] First things first, eh? [break] Food. Water. Shelter. The air was indeed cold, strikingly cold as even when she would breathe she would feel it almost freezing away at her insides. The sun was not up fully to offer the little warmth it could from its throne in the sky. It was still early in the morning which meant that this was it recovering from the night, the coldest point of the cycle and that she had a long day ahead of her. As the few precious seconds started to tick away it seemed as if almost no time had passed at all, the air was still as no blade of grass moved and the trees in the distance stood still as the leaves looked almost like ice crystals from far away.

When her claws began to turn and twist the frozen blade it would flex and bend cracking the thin layer that coated that particular piece. Unlike the others which would bend as a solid piece of ice this one's layer was thin, and as it cracked she could see why as the almost white blade of grass seemingly melted the ice from the inside out, the water trailing and filling in where it had cracked before freezing over once again.

If she looked out further she wouldn't see anything but the still grasses and a clear sky, not even steam showing sign of a hot spring to offer sanctuary from the cold as the early morning began. There was life out in the grass it just had to be found, which had become obvious as a few small insects ran by her feet. Though they disappeared into the forest of grass a few of them had passed by allowing it to be easily noticeable that the insects were in groups of three pushing around small snowballs, while they themselves appeared to look like small frozen rocks from the camouflage of their shell. With them continuing to go east a soft wind would suddenly blow in from that direction causing a slight ruffle in her feathers as it would likely send a wave of cold through her.

It was quiet and it was early, so she had to take the opportunity to either scout or look immediately for her needs, though it would be hard to tell if she needed warmth, food, or water first as they would equally gnaw at her ever slightly increasing the unpleasant weakness, To the west was a few single trees out in the distance and it was the same to the south, there were no trees in vision to the east, but there was a decent gathering to the north, though it was farther than the tree's in the other directions.

In the Citadel the days were scorching and the nights were cold. Training for the military included both extremes, but even weathering her desert homeworld's evenings did not really compare to the chest-punching chill of Skadi. She felt it in the marrow of her light-weight bones. Even if she didn't want to quiver, she shivered through gritted teeth, thinking to herself about the biological act. The body shivered to warm itself. Shivering costed energy. Without insulation, it was a waste of effort beyond her conscious control.
But these shards were interesting. Her sharp, silver eyes noticed the wetness before it refroze. As it was, drinking cold water would drop her body temperature even more… but the abundance of the grass and the potential of harvesting water from them was not lost on her.
Nor were the bugs. Glaring at the small creatures and cocking her head to listen for any other definable sound when the wind picked up, Eve mulled over her options and her reality. Unable to discern a sense of cardinal direction, and unable to know if the sun was rising or falling from the scarce few moments she had spent on the surface of Skadi, Eve knew her choices were slim. If it was evening and the sun was setting, tonight would be brutal and harsh.
And… if it was rising...
Well. If she didn't move she could freeze either way. Shooting one last glance in the direction the beatles had traveled (they were much too small to bother with, she thought) Eve took to the air. Pumping her wings and spreading them to their fullest extent she relied on an avian's choice means of travelling. Whether today was the start of the day or the end of it, reconnaissance would be valuable. Very little in way of creatures may be out and about on this great expanse of flatland, but surely there would be more amidst the outcropping of trees.
Unbeknownst to Eve she headed West.

With each movement of her arms, she would feel the cold air being caught in her feathers and chilling her before it would be warmed between the layer of insulation feathers could provide to an extent. With her path dedicated on west, she would find herself flying with the breeze making it easier to move forward with a little less energy though she would still feel the cold as it would become known to her that this entire planet was much too cold for her, for most survivalists even.

As the distance between her and the trees to the west had closed she would hear something in the distance behind her, though it could easily be heard that whatever it was had been moving the opposite direction to the east. It sounded like the cry of some large beast, maybe it had been smart of her to move immediately.

With her destination getting closer by the second she would begin to notice things around her, such as an unidentifiable pack of animals that seemed to be resting around a single hot spring pool about two miles off on her left side. She wouldn't cross them if she kept going straight, but she would notice that there were also animals around the trees closest to her. They were large with long, shaggy fur, and roundish ears that poked from their almost stretched heads that almost looked like the fluff of a coat, the bushy coats ranging from the whitest of white to ashier grey. However, the weirdest thing she would be able to note was how they stood on their tiptoes, supporting themselves with their thick tail behind them, like a tripod as they would reach up to grasp branches to pull them down and feast on the foliage. It would be easier to find out more if she got closer to them.

While all around here, and in the distance seemed like more grasslands with stretches of grass and the occasional tree and grouping of trees there was something of note in the form of a considerable amount of steam just past the grove where the fluffy creatures had grazed, unlike the other pool she would've noticed that was out of the way this one was a collection of pools, which was rather odd as a pool sat raised above the others, it was a rock hot springs, seemingly different than the other one that appeared more like a pond.

If she'd want to see how the pools were actually arranged at the rocks and it's full appearance she would have to fly closer as most of it was obscured by the tree canopy.
Chilling cold- The open air of the savannah is freezing and whenever you stay out in the open without any protection from the cold for longer three posts you will feel yourself start to freeze. Snowball beetles.
Large grassland creature. East.
Pack animals. Hot spring. North.
Shaggy herbivores.
Curious pools. Fish?
At the moment information was worth its weight in gold and Eve collected it both readily and happily. Comparing the apparent skill sets of animals her senses picked up on, Eve began to rank and file each newly discovered being. Were they threats or potential food? While her goal was strength (and consequently, a position that made her the predator of predators) figuring out who or what currently dominated the region was a must.
… as was figuring out how everything else survived. The beings that populated the planet were well-adjusted to their biomes; their habits would offer her wisdom if she could simply decipher it. Only fools failed to learn from nature, but as Eve flew she realized nature itself may be her greatest enemy. Beyond any twang of hunger or thirst or fatigue she felt, Eve acknowledged that the cold concerned her most.
Hmmm. Fluffy furs...
Tipping her flight feathers to adjust her course Eve took greatest interest in the wooly beasts plucking leaves from trees. Were they a family unit? A herd? Were there keen to stick together or were they dispersed? Were there any young ones or old ones or injured ones?
With a murderer’s intent Eve gained altitude to rise above the noticeable range of the group of toe-stepping herbivores. For now, she would observe. Did she notice claws or weaponry - how large were they really? Musing on the idea that their impressive furriness made them look larger and heavier than they actually were, Eve began to entertain a plan.
It may be worthwhile to find out what sort of defenses these creatures had… especially considering what lush bedding their pelts could make and what a warm dinner their insides could be.

As she had gotten closer and closer their grazing group it would become more obvious what they were, their longer snouts and roundish ears. They seemed to be woolier, larger versions of kangaroos with an obvious difference in fur color as well. There was about seven of them that were full grown and two smaller ones that were almost invisible amongst the grass as their fur resembled it more than the larger ones, enough to where Eve wouldn't be able to get a good look and lose them soon enough.[break][break]
One had looked her way for a moment, sniffing around and stopping eating for a moment. As she raised herself higher into the air she would soon enough find them looking away and going back to dragging a branch down as it reclined in its tripod stance. [break][break]
They were rather large and their fur was indeed thick it seemed like it did a pretty good job of keeping heat stored from how they stood so tall in the chilling wind, which even high up in the air would start to nip at Eve's flesh some more. Though it wasn't fatal yet it would surely be unpleasant for the Avian as she continued to soar along it, luckily some of the air under her feathers around her chest would create a layer of warmer air, making the bitter bite less off a pain there, though her face would feel the full front of the chill.[break][break]
If her watch was vigilant and she had been watching them as she ate she would notice that the two greyer kangaroos would bend down for a second before positioning themselves upright once again to continue eating the leaves of the tree and occasionally stopping to claw at something it seemed, it would be hard to tell what it was from where she was. Though it seemed they were on a routine it would be hard to tell if they seemed like they would leave soon or not, so how long to wait would be on her after all she didn't know this planet or its animal's habits.
The first of many oppurtunities. The young ones may be edible, Eve thought. While the large ones were perhaps too heavy for her to pick-up, she felt confident about murdering the little ones - if she could keep them in her sights long enough. While her mind was instantly drawn to the allure of dropping the small kangaroo-pups from a grand height and letting gravity take them, the possibility of collecting rocks to drop on the big ones was also available to her. At least on Skadi she would not need to worry about storing food. Once she began hunting the cold should keep meat from spoiling.
Tucking away the possibility for later Eve moved on to the pools, seeking out the steam and the heated rocks that would surely be around them. Other things likely took residence here, a factor that lent to Eve to pursue that course as she chattered from the cold winds.

As Eve had moved passed the grove of tree's and the herd feeding on it and towards the steam, she would notice a shift in temperature. The air above the pools was warmer, warmest wherever the steam was and consequently, the heat would also increase with the density of steam. The sun still sat barely over the horizon, but it had definitely risen from when last noticed. [break][break]
Below her almost seemed tranquil, still steaming pools surrounded by slick black stones. Around the edges sat flowers with their stems in the softer and warmer soil in the cracks around it. There was minimal movement amongst them but it would be hard to notice such insignificant creatures from her height coupled with the vapor. It was seemingly nice in comparison to the rest of the area around it. [break][break]
The largest pool sat almost at a slope with a flat lip around the top of it with plenty of flowers rooted with vines growing along and into wherever soil could be found. It sat constantly full yet it cascaded over the rim and flooded into two pools each about seventy percent the size of the largest. Unlike the higher pool, these two sat as part of a larger rock platform that was about a meter off the ground, with more cracks and flora that bobbed ever so in the light breeze, seemingly protected from the planet's life-threatening temperatures.[break][break]
Outside the rocks sat small ponds even with a few flowers around their edges, nowhere near as big as the ones on the rocks, but still likely of providing some form of comfort. [break][break]
Surely such a nice place had to be inhabited by others than the herding roo's, where they out hunting or feeding, still sleeping somewhere nearby, or maybe it really was left alone by the nearby creatures. The details of this warm watering hole would have to be investigated by Eve, nothing could be trusted on a planet where the creatures could freeze to death but yet somehow grass had still found a way to thrive.
