Desert Of The Vagabonds
- The final desert bordering the howling plateaus and the most volatile to live in on the planet. Due to its position it gets very little sunlight which combined with the constant roaring winds that pick up and throw the sands creates an almost freezing desert which has no so source of water except for occasional snow that usually gets destroyed by the wind before long enough. The only vegetation in this desert is the occasional deep-rooted planet with a few leaves growing out above ground and tumbleweed like plants.

The Mirrored Deserts
At the bottom of Hel exists a desert, or better said two deserts that exist parallel and in almost complete similarity to each other. Existing on both sides of the planet at the bottom they were once a singular desert before being split, the only remnant of when the planet was whole. Each desert has the same ecosystem of little rainwater, but deep groundwater that allows for shrubbery and cacti to grow and creating occasionally groundwater oases in the more rockier areas, plateaus occasionally appearing around the edges of them. Even their weather is the same despite being on other sides of the hemisphere, but oddly enough the one thing that separates them from one another is that the desert on the western hemisphere has silver sands and the eastern one has golden sands, this leaving a brilliant image under the imagination of what the sands where like when it was one desert.

Desert of Princes
One of the three border deserts to the Howling Plateaus, it sits isolated against the edge of the canyon. While it prevents the plateaus from reaching the canyon, the desert itself only has the plateaus and canyon at its ends — a massive desert that stretches down along the side of the canyon. The yellow sands are baked even more from the heat bouncing off the hot rock of the bordering plateaus. Luckily its land is decorated with massive groves of cacti, and other water-conserving plants that each grow around an oasis, creating small kingdoms of nature with towering castles of flora, each one unique in its own right.

Bloane Oasis
Located on the other side of the cliff above the canyon is a lush oasis surrounded by succulents and palm trees. The palm trees tower over the are and casts shade over the cool coloured succulents to keep them from the sun’s rays. The oasis has rich minerals that the surrounding plants survive on. The oasis itself is crystal clear and sparkles in the sunlight, connected to a few of the smaller pools that exist around the main one, the entirety of these pools and the surrounding foliage make up the oasis, making a sanctuary region in comparison to the rougher territories that surround it. Although, the bottom of it seems to be extremely deep. Upon nightfall, the succulents will bloom white iridescent flowers that shine in the moon’s light. Since the bulbs of the flowers seem to not like heat much, they bloom at night when it is cooler.

Fenrir's Maw
At one end of Helyx Valley lies a place of sanctuary, or torment. Carving and twisting through the entire region are large twisting lines of steep, pointed ridges, reminiscent of jagged fangs. Despite its intimidating visage, it can be seen upon closer look that the ridges create shade for the ground below combining with natural groundwater to let grass and flowers flourish. Succulents even grow along the rocks and to the peaks even, despite the fact the tops of the rocks become searing hot in the daytime. The succulents seem to love this, and only bloom during the day closing themselves at night to conserve heat, as a result, the succulent bulbs glow in the night. The ridges have no pattern and have created a maze with dead ends and twisting turns.

Helyx Valley
Helyx Valley is one of the many dangerous areas in Hel. Located near the top of the Merki canyon are two mountains that sit across from one another, one bordering the cliff with a valley between them, Mount Freyr and Freyja. Together, they are called the Helyx Peaks. The valley is covered in large cracks that can range from ten to twenty feet in width. Violent helix shape tornadoes occur in this valley. Almost like spirits, they can sense a presence in their valley and will sweep whoever crosses into one of the large cracks. There is no vegetation in Helyx Valley. Due to the tornadoes, it is hard to see where to go and one could easily fall into the various cracks. On the other side of Mount Freyr is a cliff that overlooks Bloane Oasis. The fact that mount Freyr is at the canyon edge and leads into the cliff creates a constant fear of falling off for those who might traverse it.

Medu Cavern
Part of the Merki river breaks off going through the canyon walls creating a cavern separate from the other caves, and the river carves through for kilometers, almost like a river of its own before exiting out the rock and reconnecting to the main river body. The majority of the river cave has no shoreline, except for stalactites, stalagmites, and fallen pieces of rocks that have gather at the cave walls/river edge. The ceiling and walls of the cavern are blanketed with pure crystalline sugar that is so numerous it allows the cave to catch the light at its entrance and exit to allow daylight to filter through.

Merki River
The massive river that splits that planet and oddly flows in a complete circle around the planet. It flows through, and creates the canyon that distinguishes the western and eastern hemispheres of the planet. The wide river is mostly clear with an orange tint from rich minerals that help keep the river filtered. Due to the massive size of the river some parts of it run more rapid than others. The bottom of the river is like a forest, despite different parts of it have different soil makeup the entire bed of the river inhabited with aquatic vegetation that make the best of the freshwater, rich soil, and bright sunlight.

The Howling Plateaus
Being visible from space the rockiest, red region of Hel, the only plateau region located on the western hemisphere. The massive wind-shaped slabs of earth decorating the entire region, some spaced apart to create small fields where bushes and scrub grow. The spaces between the plateau’s vary throughout the massive area, but scrub being present throughout despite the lack of any visible water to sustain them. Because of its geographical position wind storms constantly push in strong winds from the three deserts that border it, the shape and and positioning of the rocks causing the winds to sing in various melodies and pitches throughout the crevices, though the most beautiful tones could surely be heard from atop the plateaus.

Spring Sea
The Northern Sea on Skadi exists as an irregularity in comparison to other seas as the Spring Sea sits atop a large rocky plateau that extends for the entire lengths of the sea up to where it connects with land and the other seas. This odd Sea is only a foot deep all along being formed from the springs of water that bubble up from the plateau. The warm waters creating a haven for floating lilies and other such plants, there being no real place to take root due to the thickness of rock. Though due to the sea’s position torrents of salt water go through the sea to its other sides, creating denser currents in the shallow sea that move at a much quicker pace. Partially due to the coldness of these currents they section off the warm water into spring pools around where they bubble up from, this keeping the lily pads close to one another.
|
||
Crucible Sea
At the bottom of the south pole of Skadi is a massive undersea volcano that pumps out tons of minerals, chemicals, and nutrients out into the sea. Over the years the metal has coalesced creating a sea floor of vary metal ridges, and spikes. The undersea reef of metal having become covered in moss and coral there exists verdant oases that harbor multitudes of life supported by the chemicals and chemosynthesis rather than the sun. Though unfortunately the closer and deeper one gets to the center the hotter it gets, making it riskier to get to the richer spots. Though as a result of the warmth the entire sea enjoys being clear of any sea-ice within its territory.

Hunter's Ravine
Around the edge of the Thiaza Continent and its Rhomboid shape the entire coast has similar conditions. Ravine’s from the edge of the mountains created from rivers of meltwater and the springs underneath the mountains. The rivers which would normally create swamps instead warming the frozen soil enough to allow lush fields of coastal grass and flowers only broken by one of the many rushing rapids of warm water as most if not all the rivers lead straight into the frozen sea. Though warmer the large open space leaves little to hide in except for the rivers if you can stand the currents, it almost like a large grassy sports field with tracks and hurdles of water.

Clearfeather Mountains
Covering most of the Thiazi continent is a mountain range comprised mostly of glaciers as the solid slabs of ice have grown into titanic ridges that have shaped to mimic the rock from the soft winds the constantly flow through the region slowly eroding away at the ice. Due to being primarily ice little vegetation lives here only in the form of shrubbery around the bottom where there is more rock than ice, and heavy rooted plants that embed into the ice for liquid, though there are few of them there is at least a few different species of flora that grow directly into the ice, almost like cacti among a slippery mountain desert. Though the winds are gently they constantly carry ice which is so heavy it creates a thin crystalline fog throughout the range.

Kingrr Sea
On the eastern side of Kaldr and the western side of Thiazi there exists a second sea separating the two, unlike the others Kingrr doesn’t freeze over as its dark blue waves churn almost constantly. The cold waters of this ocean having a deep sea floor resulting in rich waters home to tons of microscopic lifeforms similar to plankton, while empty in its vast expanse the wild currents stir the waves constantly, though the bottom of it reveals its true nature as all the decayed and dying fall to the bottom of the sea, creating a graveyard of bones, flesh flakes, and other organic materials that create the only semblance of structure in the violent blue desert.

Kryis Cavern
An underground ice cavern that travels throughout most of the supercontinent. The cavern has many twisting tunnels that range different sizes and shapes. A hot spring stream flows only one way inside the cavern. Following it can lead to one of the many exits where the stream then trickles into surrounding springs. Due to the spring’s heat and the cavern’s cold temperature mist is formed. The cavern also has crystals that grow in various sizes around the cavern. The unique thing about these crystals is that they produce a glowing light. Almost like torches they light up the different tunnels in the cavern.

Skis Sea
Located between the west coast of the Kaldr supercontinent and the Thiazi continent exists a partially frozen sea with plenty of sea ice to act as a surface, but underwater along the seafloor are spaced apart heat vents that blast warmth into the water. The heat making a mixture of warm and cold water through the sea ensuring in nutrient-rich waters. Due to higher concentrations of vents in some areas there are holes in the ice of varying size, and even large melt holes the size of lakes. What makes this sea so is eerie is despite the clear waters the ice is black and snow seems to only become more ice as it falls on the only solid footing there is, creating fragile columns of ice that decorate the landscape.

Tjasse Forest
An oddity even on this frozen planet the Tjasse forest is both a fungal forest and the warmest place on the planet. Creating an odd canopy of orange that sticks out in the landscape, even more so as its the only fungal forest on the planet. Under the thick mushroom canopy the air is constantly misty as the snow and ice is melted in the air by the heat of the mushrooms, absorbing the water and releasing it through the air again. Because of the warmth life here can exist in tropical heat, constant water in the air, and even small ponds within the forest that came about of the constant moisture. The various flowers, vines, and other such foliage of this forest seemingly more intense than the tropical plants of the earth.

Jötunn Savanna
Named for its sheer size this mix of grassland and woodland biome with no closed canopy takes up nearly half of the Kaldr supercontinent. The ice gathering plants that characterize the planet flourish here, and in some parts the towering icy grasses creating their own small forest. Various trees are scattered among the landscape, some growing in small groves near each other. Though it lacks rivers there are natural hot spring watering holes for the flora and fauna that provides a chance to bathe, drink, and bask in the small warmth this planet has.

The Floating Isles
The tallest region on the planet, on the southeast, exists pillars like all over the planet but in this area, they stand taller and farther apart from others. Towering above the clouds these sanctuaries in the skies appear to almost be like islands among the sky, each one enjoying occasional rainfall produced simply from the sheer height and number of isles. Seemingly no easy way to make it from one of them to another the isolated plateaus creating hotbeds for diverse jungles that that trail partially down along the side of the pillars, truly adding to the image of a floating island.

The Great Terraced Forest
Upon looking at the south of the planet it would appear that the entire south-west and part of the south-east hemisphere is one singular forest growing on a massive mountain from the fact the canopy seems unbroken. In all reality the pillars in this region are in varying sizes, all getting shorter from all around from one point at the center. These neatly lined pillars creating the illusion that there is a singular piece of land rather that multiple similar forests lined after one another. Though they are similar there are differences on each individual terrace, but the fact each terrace has another easily accessible one next to it provides a possible explanation for the oddly mirrored places.

Asylum Gardens
On the equator of the planet exists a patch of pillars that sit hidden away lower than the others, almost invisible hidden amongst the towering pillars in an area between the hanging forests and . Though it is only further obscured by the hot, moist air that gets caught the canopies creating a layer of fog, and clouds that blanket over the region like a cover that makes it seem like a vast empty space. Despite being a patch of land only a few kilometers long the environment here is an isolated zone, to low for creatures to drop or glide down to safely and too high for creatures to climb without getting lost in the fog around the peak. The forests are crowded with broad-leaved flowering plants and trees that enjoy plenty of moisture.

The Hanging Forests
Of the Plateaus that cover the planet, a large majority of them are part of one continuous forest that takes up the northwest sphere of the planet. Despite the land being separated in pillars the vegetation of this region stands connected as various species of vines grow through these temperate forests, oddly enough stretching from one pillar to another. While providing natural roping in the jungle these forests of vines mixed with the canopy have created an asylum of housing with plenty of bridges and hanging ropes to travel between. Due to these large connected bridges, it’s not uncommon to see streams of rainwater traveling along plants and through the rainforest, even pooling among the vines at times.

Fafnir's Hoard
The lake in the middle of Sindri’s hotspot it’s a hidden treasure as its the only clear water for kilometers and with the bamboo forests surrounding the land nearby, it is well concealed. Due to this lakes cooler nature and nutrient-rich silt, this place has an abundance of lake life, brilliant water flowers floating along the top of the lake like dancing jewels. Luckily the lakes massive size allows for a diversity of life. Sometimes it even appears that the flowers, despite some being very different types will move in unison like synchronized dancers.

Sindri's Hotspot
In Sigurd ocean due to the amount of seismic activity there exists the only place where solid land is close to sea level. Here the pillars of rock have fallen to clear a space for plenty of light. The pillars having obviously fallen long ago as a bamboo forest grows along the jagged hills of the land, which has seemingly formed into a circle from the positioning of the fallen pillars and molten rock from the dormant underwater volcano near the reef. Due to the isolation, the lake in the middle is cooler and crystal clear from the soil filtration.

Sigurd Ocean
The northern polar ocean is made notable by the fact that it’s floor is speckled with volcanic vents that pump nutrient filled ash, chemicals, and heat into the water to create a warm, dark, and foggy ocean as the silt flows through making its interior only known to its inhabitants, the only marker to this ocean's ecosystem being the vast patches of algae that grow in the water, and along the sides of the pillars in this region.

Brynhildr Ocean
The southern polar ocean exists almost perpetually in night as for most of the year this region misses the sun’s light also ensuring that it is the coldest ocean. The toxic cloud seems a bit lighter in general in this area, this due to the groves of massive trees that grow from the sides of pillars, and occasionally from the sea floor into the toxic mists, their massive green leaves growing out vertically like flat walls of foliage. The result of this chemosynthesis is that foamy bubbles pour from the trunk of trees filling the ocean with nutrients and oxygen. The bubbles don’t disperse easily and clouds of seafoam float underwater as well as the top.
|
||
Tyrian Ocean
The equatorial ocean and the largest of the three oceans that make up the larger planetary ocean Tyrian is made notable for its multiple gentle currents and vast fields of seagrass. Unfortunately, though the light here is plenty the toxic cloud is thickest above this ocean. The shade of the many pillars, but constant sunlight creates a temperate ocean that enjoys the benefits of two other oceans bringing their bounty to it.
