[attr="class","p_block"]personality
[attr="class","p_post"]A lover of learning is easily one of the most practical ways to describe Masaki. Anything and everything to do about knowledge attracts the man and he has a keen mind for this profession. He was a teacher on Sakkens, eagerly trying to get his students to see that there was more to life than the economic hustle and bustle of the trade planet. He wanted them to see the beauty, the deeper essence. He was often won over or impressed by students who showed similar displays of intelligence or passion for learning. But as an astute individual, Masaki often holds that over people, especially his foes. He will not shrink down to console someone who doesn’t understand him. Yet, to claim Masaki as a cruel and cold individual would be a gross judgement of his personality. He values all life, respected the slowest child in the group to the one with an uncanny aptitude towards higher education. How that respect and kindness holds up during his Surivival has yet to be seen. His biggest devotion, besides his job, was to his wife. Sadly, however, Masaki has lost her and that kindhearted spirit of his has slowly been flickering out, perhaps replaced completely by his bio-imprint's nature. He is not a rash man and will always think things through before acting. Masaki also holds a quiet kind of humor, making soft remarks that, while witty, are often missed. He can hold himself well when bantering and enjoys doing so with his fellow colleagues and students.

[attr="class","p_post"]Masaki is an omnivore, however, much like his bio-imprint species he leans more towards fruit, nectar, and other herbivore delicacies instead of raw meats.

[attr="class","p_block"]appearance
[attr="class","p_post"]Masaki is a lean man gracing just around 6'1 and, unlike some with such height, he tries to hold himself upright at all times instead of stooping down to match other people’s level. This posture adds to his haughty demeanor as Masaki often looks down at the people he talks to. This is particularly hard for him at times due to the quadruped nature of his bio-imprint. It is clear that Masaki is often fighting to retain his upward position as a semblance of humanity he is determined to keep. When not around others he falls to all fours, moving with much more ease. The bottoms of his palms and feet have adapted thick pads as protection. His bio-imprint has impacted Masaki in unique ways, lengthening his ears to long points, making his nails into sharp claws, and, best of all, the lovely pattern found in most civets have manifested as a tattooed pattern across Masaki's human skin. However, due to some genetic reaction, the pattern looks less like natural spots and more like a trail of ivy littered across his body. Perhaps it acts as a form of camouflage to a family of creatures that live primarily in the jungle. Fur has started to sprout from the ivy tattoos but has not completely covered his entire body yet. However, Masaki is fully furred from his elbows to his hands and his hips to his feet. His feet have transformed into that of a civet. He has a long thin tail that helps with balance and is also covered in fur. His face has transformed into the thin snout of the civet with whiskers shooting out of his snout and around his eyebrows. Due to his bio-imprint, Masaki has a strong musky smell to him. The front half of Masaki's teeth are sharp cutting teeth while the back half resemble human molars.

[attr="class","p_block"]history
[attr="class","p_post"]Masaki grew up on Sakkens, smothered by a planet that embraced economic trade and commerce more than it did anything else. By the time he was an adult, Masaki was numb to the endless screens constantly playing the Game. He would pass them without a glance, swearing he wouldn't waste his time on something that turned science into entertainment. Deadly entertainment at that. Trying to avoid a cliched job on Sakkens, Masaki opted to be a teacher. Surprisingly the world still needed those. And while shaping the minds of tomorrow into something better occupied Masaki for a while he soon grew restless again. His parents were too wrapped up in their store catering to the thousands of tourists visiting Sakkens to notice their only child's growing discontent. He would come for dinner, pay his respects, and quickly leave without revealing his true feelings. He tried to explain his frustration with life once to them and all it earned him was a long lecture on how he could become a Survivalist. His parents were keen supporters. Masaki stopped visiting after that.

It was around that time he met his future wife. She too hated the games and wanted more than the underground mall life of Sakkens. But, with little money and zero connections, she was planetbound, living paycheck to paycheck from the Azure Trading company. Masaki loved her intensely and they had four good years of marriage together before his wife died. Her death was ruled as a work accident but Masaki, ever suspicious, decided to pry into it more. A snooping widower with nothing to lose was not something that the trading company needed and to save public image they made Masaki disappear. No one bothered looking into it. Not even his parents who were given a nice settlement for the loss of their son and daughter-in-law.

Now the only trace of Masaki left on Sakkens is the occasional moments where his live-screen is projected on the mall's screens. The irony is not lost on him.
