you cannot hold me captive
welcome to Survival of the Fittest
In the year 3096 humanity left earth forever, much of its history lost due to wars and disaster.
The only leftovers were seized by the last human government—
The Dimiran Empire, formed from the weatlhiest and most advanced conglomerates on the planet.
They quickly colonized seven new homeplanets, each one headed by a different company and humans began to prosper once again.
Now, in the year 5247 the empire thrives on nine planets, but within the last ten years a new form of "entertainment" has shown up within the empire.
Under the guise of scientific study, the government has gathered criminals, slaves, debtors, or contracted individuals to help study the ecosystems of foreign planets.
Those in the experiment are genetically altered to become humanoid monsters with traits similar to animals from earth.
They are then sent to varying planets where they must adapt to survive.
Their struggles are watched through constant livestreams for entertainment.
Unfortunately, you are one these experiments.
Sorry for this.
The premise for this roleplay is that you are a human from one of the nine homeplanets who, due to varying circumstances, are inducted into the experiment, becoming mutated and left to survive in an alien ecosystem. You go through growth spurts to gain adaptations, or improve/modify existing ones. You get to choose the planet you wish to land on, but the landing pods aren't stable so where you land on the planet will be random.

Anything and everything to do about knowledge attracts the man and he has a keen mind for this profession. He was a teacher on Sakkens, eagerly trying to get his students to see that there was more to life than the economic hustle and bustle of the trade planet. He wanted them to see the beauty, the deeper essence. He was often won over or impressed by students who showed similar displays of intelligence or passion for learning. But as an astute individual, Masaki often holds that over people, especially his foes. He will not shrink down to console someone who doesn’t understand him. Yet, to claim Masaki as a cruel and cold individual would be a gross judgement of his personality. He values all life, respected the slowest child in the group to the one with an uncanny aptitude towards higher education. How that respect and kindness holds up during his Surivival has yet to be seen. His biggest devotion, besides his job, was to his wife. Sadly, however, Masaki has lost her and that kindhearted spirit of his has slowly been flickering out, perhaps replaced completely by his bio-imprint's nature. He is not a rash man and will always think things through before acting. Masaki also holds a quiet kind of humor, making soft remarks that, while witty, are often missed. He can hold himself well when bantering and enjoys doing so with his fellow colleagues and students. This posture adds to his haughty demeanor as Masaki often looks down at the people he talks to. This is particularly hard for him at times due to the quadruped nature of his bio-imprint. It is clear that Masaki is often fighting to retain his upward position as a semblance of humanity he is determined to keep. When not around others he falls to all fours, moving with much more ease. The bottoms of his palms and feet have adapted thick pads as protection. His bio-imprint has impacted Masaki in unique ways, lengthening his ears to long points, making his nails into sharp claws, and, best of all, the lovely pattern found in most civets have manifested as a tattooed pattern across Masaki's human skin. However, due to some genetic reaction, the pattern looks less like natural spots and more like a trail of ivy littered across his body. Perhaps it acts as a form of camouflage to a family of creatures that live primarily in the jungle. Fur has started to sprout from the ivy tattoos but has not completely covered his entire body yet. However, Masaki is fully furred from his elbows to his hands and his hips to his feet. His feet have transformed into that of a civet. He has a long thin tail that helps with balance and is also covered in fur. His face has transformed into the thin snout of the civet with whiskers shooting out of his snout and around his eyebrows. Due to his bio-imprint, Masaki has a strong musky smell to him. The front half of Masaki's teeth are sharp cutting teeth while the back half resemble human molars. [break] [attr="class","p_header"]background [attr="class","p_content"] [break] [attr="class","p_block"]history [attr="class","p_post"]Masaki grew up on Sakkens, smothered by a planet that embraced economic trade and commerce more than it did anything else. By the time he was an adult, Masaki was numb to the endless screens constantly playing the Game. He would pass them without a glance, swearing he wouldn't waste his time on something that turned science into entertainment. Deadly entertainment at that. Trying to avoid a cliched job on Sakkens, Masaki opted to be a teacher. Surprisingly the world still needed those. And while shaping the minds of tomorrow into something better occupied Masaki for a while he soon grew restless again. His parents were too wrapped up in their store catering to the thousands of tourists visiting Sakkens to notice their only child's growing discontent. He would come for dinner, pay his respects, and quickly leave without revealing his true feelings. He tried to explain his frustration with life once to them and all it earned him was a long lecture on how he could become a Survivalist. His parents were keen supporters. Masaki stopped visiting after that. [break] [break] It was around that time he met his future wife. She too hated the games and wanted more than the underground mall life of Sakkens. But, with little money and zero connections, she was planetbound, living paycheck to paycheck from the Azure Trading company. Masaki loved her intensely and they had four good years of marriage together before his wife died. Her death was ruled as a work accident but Masaki, ever suspicious, decided to pry into it more. A snooping widower with nothing to lose was not something that the trading company needed and to save public image they made Masaki disappear. No one bothered looking into it. Not even his parents who were given a nice settlement for the loss of their son and daughter-in-law. [break] [break] Now the only trace of Masaki left on Sakkens is the occasional moments where his live-screen is projected on the mall's screens. The irony is not lost on him. [attr="class","p_template"] [attr="class","p_header"]approved [attr="class","p_content"] Your application is approved by staff. Curiosity killed the cat, and it removed your humanity making you a member of the Viverridae, an almost Pseudo-feline with semi-retractable claws and a few other odd classification details, but how will you handle a rapid ride in The Merki RiverMake sure you fill out the fields in your profile. If you need any help with this process, you're welcome to contact one of the staff members. You are welcome to post up a plotter here now that your character has been accepted. Make sure to create a dossier here and post your Application in it.[break] Finally create a thread here in survival plans with a link to this acception post, to receive your first adaptation before you begin roleplaying.
